Island

Bird Island photographs really well at first and last light. The trees reflect in the calm waters, which are shaded by blue shadows in the morning while the trees on the island catch the glow of golden yellow sun.

In this image I was trying out a 45mm Tilt-shift lens, so the blurring effect you see towards the edge of the image is a natural component of the lens and not some post-processing gimmick. The tilt effect helps to heighten the tendrils of mist rising from the cool waters.
